DMS has been selected as one of only three Solution Providers in the US to run trials for the IP Flex product line with a major national carrier. During the next few months, DMS will be working with potential customers to identify opportunities to migrate to the proven reliability of IP Flex service from older forms of telephony with a carrier who is known for their award winning data network and customer friendly support organization.
With the launch of the IP Flex product line, customers who are currently using this provider for their WAN and Internet services will be able to consolidate voice onto their data networks for cost reduction and a streamlined solution. This is the final round of trials that will take place prior to a full launch of IP Flex to the general market expected in 1Q 2016. We are excited to be able to add this to the portfolio of services that we offer to our clients and we anticipate that with the launch, this carrier will become an even larger piece of the telecom puzzle for our customers.
With the holidays upon us it is easy to get wrapped up in all of the hustle and bustle of preparing special meals, family gatherings and shopping for your own family. As a company, DMS has made it a point of taking the time out from our hectic work and home life schedules to lend assistance to those who may not have the resources to provide for their own families. For the 10th year in a row, DMS has donated baskets to local needy families so that they are able to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner. This year, 12 local families received a basket containing a turkey and all of the fixings for a full Thanksgiving feast as well as staples to provide them with additional meals during the holiday time.
It seems that each year more and more families are falling on hard times and in partnering with a local organization that serves families in our area we hope that we are able to make a difference for the local community. We are always glad to have the opportunity to help those around us and make a difference!!
With technology again changing, we have been working diligently with our clients to ensure that they are always using the best forms of connectivity for their business. In the second half of 2015 that has meant a large migration of our current AT&T customers from the legacy MPLS platform to the AVPN platform. This has been a win-win situation for clients as the pricing for bandwidth, especially fiber, on the AVPN service tends to be more aggressive than former MPLS pricing allowing customers to not only take advantage of the latest technology offering but also to increase the speed of their connections at a reasonable price point.
While a migration or change to a network can be a lot of work, the customers that have used DMS for this transition process have realized great improvements in the functionality, access types, speeds, reliability and cost using the AVPN platform and fiber network facilities. As the migration to AVPN becomes more widespread and eventually is mandatory we will continue to provide support to our clients throughout the transition process. This has been the beginning of a trend and we anticipate that throughout 2016 there will continue to be an influx of the need for this type of migration to keep our customers up to date with the latest technology.
